Happy New Year from Tokyo Repertory Singers!

Brian Munguia

2021 was our very first year in activity as a choir. Due to the pandemic and multiple states of emergency, we were not able to meet as often as we had planned but we still managed to keep the group going.

In August we participated in the Karuizawa International Choral Festival and received great praise from the adjudication panel and from the audience. After this point, we we received an increasing number of inquiries from both the Japanese and international members of the community in Tokyo and have seen a steady increase in numbers. What was initially a majority Japanese group is nearly a majority foreign national group.

While 2021 was a very difficult year for all of us but we look forward to what 2022 has to offer and hope to keep growing and creating beautiful music together.
