Regarding Student Member Recruitment

Tokyo Repertory Singers (TRS) is an international choir in Tokyo. Founded in 2021, we make active efforts to include the international community in our activities and promote positive interactions between our members regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, or nationality.

While the majority of our current members are working adults, we do have members who are university students (including international and exchange students). While there are many university clubs and circles open to students studying abroad in Japan, international students often find it difficult to join due to language barriers.

At TRS, we have bilingual rehearsals during which we use both English and Japanese. Not only does the director speak both languages, but there are also many members in the group who are bilingual and happy to help those who struggle with either Japanese or English.

Though many international and exchange students only study in Japan for a specified period of time, our group is happy to accept them as members and be a place to make new friends, network, and even improve their language skills.

If you are interested in singing in Japan during your studies, do not hesitate to contact us!

Rehearsals are held every Sunday 13:00-16:00 at various community centers throughout central Tokyo.

Monthly fees for students are ¥1500 and the first 2 months after officially joining are FREE!!

For more information about the group and how to join, please visit our homepage.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
