Japan Choral Music Festival (Uta Fest) 2026

August 23, TRS took the stage at Uta Fest for the second time!

Because of the earthquake that struck late the night before, some members had to head out even earlier than planned and navigate potential train delays. It made for a tough start to the day, but everyone supported one another — from Brian checking in right after the earthquake to members sharing early‑morning train updates. Thanks to that teamwork, we were all able to arrive safely at the venue

Once on stage, we were able to sing both of our pieces with confidence and heart!

And this Uta Fest held another special meaning for us.

Zack — someone who has always been a dependable “big brother” figure in TRS — will be stepping away from the group, making this Uta Fest his final performance with us.

We’re truly grateful that we could stand on the same stage one last time and sing together.

He also shared these wonderful words with us:

“TRS is a group that embodies the message I received from Professor Ryosuke Hatanaka during my student days: ‘Open your eyes to the world’s music through choral singing.’”

These words mean so much to us and give us strength. We’ll carry them forward as we continue growing and refining our music.

Zack, thank you for all the music, time, and warmth you’ve shared with TRS. Please keep cheering us on in your own way — we’ll always be grateful for you

Even with a bit of nervousness, we laughed, took photos, encouraged each other, and enjoyed every moment. Not just the stage, but all those little in‑between moments reminded us how fun it is to make music together.

Uta Fest also gives us the valuable opportunity to receive feedback on our performance. We’ll treasure every comment we received and use them to shape our future rehearsals and music‑making.
